A new report reveals that house prices in the UK have remained static since the start of 2005. Halifax reports that the average house price in the UK is now £162,605 - just 3.7 per cent higher than the same month last year.
"House prices increased by 0.1 per cent in June and the average UK house price was static over the first six months of 2005 as a whole," commented Halifax chief economist Martin Ellis.
"As previously forecast, there has been a marked slowdown in annual house price inflation in all of Britain's regions over the past 12 months," he added.
While demand may not be increasing anyone considering buying property is advised to look around to find the best buildings insurance cover.
