House builder Persimmon, suggests there will be an upturn in house sales before 2005 is over.
This upturn, which the company predicts will be driven by the new build market, will be in line with "traditional patterns". However sales are expected to exceed 2004.
A spokesman for the company also revealed that its average house price is £184,000, a 7.6 per cent increase on 2004's figure.
Any UK customers thinking of buying a new home are advised to shop around for their buildings insurance. While many new homes come with a warranty it may be the case that it is insufficiently comprehensive.
